Taiwanese songstress A-Mei has announced via her official Facebook page that she will be throwing 10 concerts at Taipei Area from Apr 4 to Apr 15 next year. This also meant that the Mandopop diva would break her own record of performing eight shows at the venue in 2012.
At the same time, A-Mei gave her word that there will not be any added shows this time around. Additionally, the production cost of the concert is reported to be over NT$110 million (approximately S$4.65 million).
According to Taiwanese media, the show will be divided into two main segments, where A-Mei will perform most of the songs in her latest album Faces of Paranoia while her alter-stage persona Amit will take over the second half of the concert.
As A-Mei previously mentioned that the gigs in April will be her “final concert”, many fans believe that the 42-year-old is planning to settle down with her bartender boyfriend Sam (pictured above) after wrapping the tour. Some netizens even claimed that the songbird is likely to announce her marriage plans on stage.
However, A-Mei’s manager refuted the claims and insisted that “the singer is not one who mixes work with her personal life”. He also clarified that though A-Mei wishes to hold small-scale concerts in the future, she does not intend to bid farewell to the stage.
