Taiwanese singer and actor Calvin Chen was seen out for dinner recently in Taipei’s Eastern District with a young woman, identified as Cherry Yu, a student at Shih Hsin University in Taiwan.
The pair were in the company of friends, but Calvin and Cherry appeared to be close.
After leaving the restaurant, the 34-year-old member of the boy band Fahrenheit discovered the group had been tailed by photographers, and Cherry dashed into the car of another guy in the party and left.
Cherry has appeared on University, a Taiwanese variety programme featuring college students, and earlier this month she was rumoured to be romantically linked to Ken Yu, the son of Taiwanese veteran singers Yu Tien and Lee Ya-ping.
Calvin’s record label denied he was involved with Cherry, saying, “Cherry Yu works in the bakery Calvin invested in, and that night all the bakery staff headed to Vanness Wu’s sister’s restaurant for dinner. [Cherry and Calvin] are definitely not seeing each other because their age difference is too large. Calvin is still single.”
In recent years, Calvin has been venturing into business, opening a bakery with Vanness Wu and former Fahrenheit band member Wu Chun, and investing in hair salons and medical equipment.
