Charmaine Sheh and Linda Chung to battle for Best Actress award

Linda Chung had reportedly expressed her desire to start a family if she does not win the award

Following a three-year absence from TVB shows, Hong Kong actress Charmaine Sheh marked her return this year with thriller drama Line Walker, which became the most-watched TVB drama this year. The company has already invited her to attend the annual TVB Anniversary Awards held next month.

The fight for the coveted Best Actress award will be between Charmaine and fellow thespian Linda Chung. An insider revealed, “Majority of the higher management voted for Charmaine during the meeting for Best Actor and Best Actress awards, most importantly because she is able to attend the ceremony in the midst of her busy schedule,” but added Linda deserves a shot at the award too as she has helped the company in many ways.

It is said the latter has taken the initiative to be present at various functions including veteran actress Virginia Lok’s birthday party. Linda, who is a singer under Voice Entertainment, had reportedly urged its CEO Herman Ho to do his best to fight for the award.

Herman is understood to be releasing her latest album at the end of the year and even requested his television producer wife Sandy Yue to air drama Tiger Cubs II, starring Linda, to increase the actress-singer’s exposure and chances of winning.

With fierce competition from Charmaine, the 30-year-old is said to have expressed her desire to start a family if she does not win the award as her last resort.
