Taiwanese actress Michelle Chen turned 33 yesterday and celebrated her last birthday spent as an unmarried woman, as the actress is set to tie the knot with her Chinese actor fiance, Chen Xiao next month.
The actress, who is currently filming for her newest drama serial in Beijing, China, celebrated her birthday with the production crew, who presented her with a three-tier cake. Michelle then wished jokingly for the drama serial to “finish filming according to schedule”, as the drama’s filming is scheduled to end in July, with the actress’s Beijing wedding to be held later the same month.
Later that night, the actress posted two pictures together with Chen Xiao on her Instagram, with the caption of “Happy Birthday, the you (sic) who belongs to me,” leading fans to believe that Chen Xiao had hijacked the actress’ account to wish her a happy birthday.
It was later reported that the actor had secretly travelled down to meet the birthday girl, greeting her with flowers and a kiss, leaving Michelle smiling from eye-to-eye.
Additionally, with less than two months till the lovebirds wed, it seems like Michelle’s career is flourishing as well, with the actress recently awarded the Best Actress award at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival for her role in the movie Pali Road.
Michelle and Chen Xiao first met while filming the drama, The Romance of the Condor Heroes in 2014. After dating for seven months, Chen Xiao popped the question in Paris at the end of 2015. During Chinese New Year this year, the couple travelled to meet their respective in-laws.
