Taiwanese actor Ethan Ruan’s last lover was rumoured to be a married female celebrity with the initial H. Netizens then combed the interwebs for a name and now they have one: Bai Baihe, Ethan’s Chinese Cities in Love co-star. The two were rumoured to have gotten close during filming.
Amateur detectives combed through messages posted on a celebrity gossip website and found one that alluded to the set of a Lunar New Year film helmed by a famous director, where the woman H was present and a certain LXL was in a swimming pool for a particular scene.
Netizens deduced the message referred to Personal Tailor, a 2013 comedy film directed by Feng Xiaogang, in which actress Li Xiaolu appeared with Baihe.
Baihe’s manager denied the rumours yesterday: “Regarding the speculation online, it can be considered libel and we will take legal action to resolve this.”
Baihe, 31, has been married to Chinese singer Chen Yu Fan, 39, for nine years, and they have a 7-year-old son.
Ethan was said to have cheated on his now-former girlfriend, Taiwanese actress Tiffany Hsu, four times during their eight-year relationship. The actress appeared on the Taiwan talkshow Small Swallow Xiaoyan Night last night, and evaded questions on Ethan’s infidelity. Tiffany reportedly knows the identity of H but is keeping mum.
