Taiwanese actress Gwei Lun-Mei is now the proud owner of a luxurious apartment in Taipei, which is reportedly worth NT$120 million (approximately S$5 million). According to media reports, the 30-year-old bought the unit last month and her neighbours include several A-listers, such as Mandopop star Jolin Tsai.
While speaking to reporters yesterday, Lun-Mei’s manager confirmed that the actress has purchased a “home” for the first time in her life. “She finally has her own space after working hard for over 10 years. Thanks everyone for the concern,” she said.
During her 13 years in the industry, Lun-Mei maintained a balance between quality and quantity in her work, steadily gaining accolades and popularity across Asia. Her healthy image also earned her numerous commercials and endorsement deals. In 2011, Lun-Mei’s annual income allegedly amounted to S$4.6 million.
Lun-Mei, whose performance in Black Coal, Thin Ice won her a “Best Leading Actress” nomination at the Golden Horse Awards, will be vying for the title with Gong Li, Tang Wei, Vicki Zhao and Chen Shiang-chyi next weekend.
