Unlike his cool onstage persona, Mandopop superstar Jay Chou has always dreamed of having a romantic fairytale-like wedding. To fulfill his wish, the singer will be tying the knot with his fiancée Hannah Quinlivan in a European castle on Jan 18.
During a recent programme recording of talk show SS Xiao Yan Night hosted by veteran artiste Chang Hsiao-yen, Jay opened up about his big day, only to be embarrassed by his own words. “I feel like a girl,” he shyly added, causing uproar of laughter in the studio.
When asked if he will emulate David Tao by inviting a table of “Best Male Singers”, Jay straightforwardly replied: “I think it’s better to be low profile, so I won’t be inviting celebrities.”
On the show, the multi-hyphenate also talked about his buddy Will Liu’s wedding in 2007. Although he was very touched during the wedding, he was shocked by Will’s sudden display of affection. “It felt like a forced kiss. Even if you want to [give me a peck], wait until no one is around to take pictures!” Jay exclaimed.
Singing compliments of Will for being the perfect example of a “good man”, Jay expressed his wish to become a responsible and caring husband.
