In a blink of an eye, Taiwanese diva Jolin Tsai has been in the singing industry for 15 years. To celebrate the milestone, she held a free mini-concert last night in Taiwan and also took the opportunity to promote her latest album PLAY.
Her record label, Warner Music Taiwan, splashed NT$7million (approximately S$300,000) on the gig, from designing three brand new outfits to the stage design, lighting and musicians.
Dressed in a golden mini-dress decorated with snake sculptures, the 34-year-old performed her new song ‘Medusa’ with the company of eight dancers, moving sexily to the beat and even teased that her bottoms felt cold.
Jolin then flaunted her assets in a revealing feather dress and treated fans to her second hit single in PLAY, ‘The Third Person and I’, which she previously collaborated with her idol Carina Lau for its music video.
Nostalgically crooning other classic hits of hers like ‘Dao Dai’, ‘Neighbours With The World’ and ‘Dancing Diva’ to commemorate her 15th year since debut, she reminisced, “I was still young [then] with a round face and side-parting hair.”
Although she used to be criticised for her image, Jolin does not take them to heart and is less affected by such comments now. After spending such a long time in showbiz, she still maintains a positive attitude like she did 15 years ago.
