Taiwanese-American actor Peter Ho, 40, has registered his marriage to his girlfriend, Peggy, in Taipei yesterday after an eight-year courtship.
He posted a photo of them together on Weibo yesterday afternoon. “Posting photos of wedding rings is no longer trendy — it’s not as meaningful as posting about the wedding bracelets my wife personally designed,” he wrote.
“A year from today it’ll be my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary and our first.”
Through his management agency, he said, “It was entirely out of concern for the privacy of my girlfriend and her family that I didn’t go public with her before we married. I didn’t want them to be disturbed, and I hope everyone will understand!”
Last night the newlyweds were interviewed outside their home, and Peggy said with a laugh that she would have six children. Peter said they may go to Taiwan’s Penghu Island or Green Island for their honeymoon.
According to Taiwanese media, the couple will only get to spend a week together before Peter flies to China to start work. They are planning to hold their wedding in Taipei at a later date.
“We haven’t decided when,” the actor said. “Right now I still have one movie and two television series to complete this year, but the wedding will definitely be held this year.”
Peggy posted updates the Facebook page of a company she runs, adding photos of a diamond ring and the wedding bracelets she and Peter now wear. She thanked her in-laws for their concern, and her friends and family for their congratulations.
Peter finally confirmed his relationship with Peggy last December.
