Leon Lai may be relatively new to the social media scene, having started his Facebook page early this year, but his constant updates have impressed netizens.
Yesterday, the 49-year-old uploaded a video on Facebook recommending the hottest Korean drama of the moment, Descendants of the Sun. Lead actress Song Hye-kyo also made a surprise appearance in the video to the astonishment of netizens, who commented, “Wow! Why is Hye-kyo here?”
It turns out that Hye-kyo and Song Joong Ki, her co-star in the drama Descendants of the Sun, were supposed to be in Hong Kong to promote the drama on the first week of April, but Hye-kyo had flown to Hong Kong earlier and met up with Leon during her trip.
Leon, who had once revealed on his own talk show, Leon Tell You Something!, that he does not watch Korean dramas, said in the video, “Descendants of the Sun is a must-watch! [It is] very interesting and moving, [you’ll be] wiping your tears [away].”
The camera then panned to Hye-kyo, who was dressed casually in a denim shirt, smiling her signature sweet smile, with a peace handsign, later changing it to a thumbs up sign, imitating Leon.
The actress later uploaded the same clip up on her Instagram, together with two behind-the-scene pictures, thanking Leon and revealing that they’ve known each other for “almost ten years”. She also described Leon as “such a loyal friend and brother” in her caption.
