Vivian Hsu often shares snippets of her life, her thoughts and childcare tips on Facebook. Yesterday, the singer-actress posted an ambiguous post on the social networking site, which was deleted soon after, leading fans to think that she is not on good terms with her mother-in-law.
The singer-actress uploaded a picture of two girls holding each other’s hands with the caption, “[As a] woman, why are you making things hard for other women.” The photo attracted the attention and concern of netizens, who wondered if she had quarrelled with her mother-in-law.
Various comments were left on Vivan’s post, with some sympathising with her too. “Females are daughters, wives, mothers-in-law and aunts… but because of their different statuses, [they] make it hard for other females.”
Some also offered her advice like, “[You] must remember the idiom, ‘A peaceful family will prosper’, and handle [the situation] with wisdom. Don’t let your husband get caught between a rock and a hard place.”
After much speculations by the commentators, Vivian eventually deleted her post, with no explanation.
The 41-year-old is married to Singapore-based businessman Sean Lee, and gave birth to her son, Dalton, in Singapore last year. She moved over to Singapore after marrying Sean and once said that she did not have much chance to make friends at first, and it was her mother-in-law who reassured her and made sure she was comfortable here. The two are said to be very close as a result of that and have no in-law problems with each other.
