William So and his designer girlfriend Anita tied the knot yesterday, in a ceremony preceded by chief witnesses Eason Chan and wife Hillary Tsui. It is William’s second marriage after he divorced his ex-wife in 2003.
Before the banquet, Anita revealed to members of the media she will follow her hubby’s wishes regarding baby-making plans, but wants to stay in Hong Kong for a longer period of time next year, hinting at her hopes to bear William a child soon.
The Hong Kong singer brought along 14 buddies including Eason, Andy Hui, Dicky Cheung and Edmond Leung to fetch his bride at the hotel. William even presented Anita’s bridesmaids with a blank cheque signed by him to mark the start of the occasion and called Anita a priceless treasure.
Like any other groom on their big day, the 47-year-old had to undergo several rounds of games, one of which he wore a blindfold with the words “I am my wife’s slave” and wrote “Anita, I love you” on his buddies’ foreheads.
To show his love, William went on a bended knee and read a love letter filled with modified lyrics from his hit song ‘Men Should Not Make Women Cry’. He proclaimed, “I know a man should not make a woman cry, but I promise from today onwards, I will only make you cry tears of joy. I love you eternally!"
