BoA has confirmed that she will release a 15th anniversary album – her first Korean comeback in three years after the release of Only One in 2012.
The pint-sized 28-year-old, who debuted at the tender age of 13 with ID; Peace B, is well known for her excellent vocals and dance skills. BoA, together with TVXQ!, are recognised one of the first Korean bands to have successfully introduced K-Pop to Japan and have huge fan bases in the country till this day.
BoA first got fans intrigued when she uploaded a photo of herself in the recording studio in the wee hours of the morning today (Apr 2). This morning, Korean news agencies reached out to her label, S.M. Entertainment, which confirmed that she was recording a new song which will be included in her upcoming Korean album.
They stressed that she is still in the midst of preparation and that the exact release date and further details have yet to be set in stone at this time.
While she has not been active in the Korean music industry, BoA has been actively promoting in Japan and is also currently touring with the rest of her label-mates, including Super Junior, Girls’ Generation, SHINee and f(x), for S.M.’s joint concert tour SMTOWN LIVE WORLD TOUR IV.
