Korean actor Choi Jin Hyuk has confirmed that he will be enlisting for his mandatory military service this year. While he has yet to receive his drafting notice, he is expecting to be notified of his exact enlistment date next month.
The 28-year-old recently wrapped filming for series Pride and Prejudice, in which he plays a genius prosecutor. He made the announcement of his enlistment at the post-filming celebrations, where he declared, “I will coolly enlist in the army after this project”.
Prior to Pride and Prejudice, the actor starred in dramas such as Emergency Couple, Gu Family Book and Fated to Love You. His last visit to Singapore was last May, when he and Emergency Couple co-star Song Ji Hyo held a joint fan-meeting on our shores.
The actor, who is born in 1986, is expected to be the first of many other celebrity enlistments to be announced in the coming year. Other notable celebrities born in the same year include Super Junior’s Sungmin, Donghae and Eunhyuk, TVXQ!’s Yunho, all three members of JYJ and Kim Hyun Joong.
