FT Island′s Lee Hong Gi Reveals Why CNBLUE′s Jung Yong Hwa Made Solo Debut Before Him
FT Island′s Lee Hong Gi shared his honest thoughts on agency junior CNBLUE′s Jung Yong Hwa making his solo debut before him.
Lee Hong Gi held a debut showcase for the release of his first solo mini album FM302 at the Yes24 Muv Hall in Seoul′s Seogyo-dong on November 18, where a reporter asked, "Your agency junior Jung Yong Hwa released a solo album first. Was there a special reason why?"
Lee Hong Gi answered, "To be honest, I never thought about a solo album. I only thought about FT Island′s music. The reason why Yong Hwa released an album first is because of timing like that, and I thought because he′s more popular, it′d be good for him to try."Lee Hong Gi kicked off his solo promotions with the release of his first mini album FM302 on music sites. The album is Lee Hong Gi′s first solo album since his debut in 2007, and the album title is a combination of the radio frequency FM and Lee Hong Gi′s birthday March 2.
The album contains a total of six tracks, including lead single Insensible, Let′s Seize the Day, Kings for a Day, Be Your Doll, LOL and It′s Raining. Lee Hong Gi composed and wrote all of the songs on the album.
Lee Hong Gi said, "When they said let′s release a solo album, I asked if I had to release it within the year - that′s how much time I didn′t have. But I worked hard on it and had a lot on my mind with the thought that I had to show a new side to myself. There are a lot of artists in our agency, and I thought, ′I need to do something only I can show.′"
He continued, "I haven′t slept at all since the album was released yesterday. I was so anxious I checked the Internet in real-time like with my first album during my debut days. It′s definitely scary knowing that you have to do everything on your own and that you′re solo."
