Girls’ Generation will be making their first comeback as eight after the departure of Jessica last September.

Tiffany first hinted at an imminent comeback through her personal Instagram account while Yuri later spoke of album preparations soon after.

The group’s representatives shared that they will be releasing their ninth Japanese single in April, more than a year after Galaxy Supernova was released in September 2013. Girls’ Generation is expected to head to Japan in the month of March to prepare for their comeback.

This will be the girl group’s first new release after Jessica’s departure and industry watchers have divided opinions on how their popularity will be affected.

Girls’ Generation’s last Korean release was their extended play Mr.Mr. in 2014. Their last Korean studio album, I Got a Boy, was released in January 2013.

Catch Me If You Can is slated to be released on April 22.
