IU’s label, LOEN Entertainment, has shot down the possibility of an April comeback for the talented soloist following reports that she is currently preparing new material following A Flower Bookmark last May.

A representative of the company confirmed that neither the concept nor song collection process has been completed, disappointing fans who have waited for new material from the musician. A Flower Bookmark comprised of seven cover versions of K-Pop songs from the past.

Music industry officials had claimed that she was in the process of finalising details for her return, raising expectations of what sort of new material she would release. She was involved in a scandal back in 2012 with Super Junior’s Eunhyuk when she accidentally uploaded a seemingly intimate photo of the two.

Instead of shying away from the limelight, she took the chance and showed a bolder side of herself with Modern Times, gaining praise for her versatility.

In 2014, she also released ‘Summer Love’, a collaborative track with Ulala Session. She was also featured on ‘Sing For Me’ with g.o.d and ‘Sogyeokdong’ with Seo Taiji.

IU’s last studio album, Modern Times, was released in 2013.
