South Korean actors Lee Jong Suk and Kim Woo Bin have denied rumours that the two were casted on the Chinese version of the popular reality programme, We Got Married.
The show, which gave rise to pairings such as the Adam Couple (2AM’s Jo Kwon and Brown Eyed Girls’ Ga In), pairs Korean celebrities up and showcase what life would be like if they were married. The show also gives its couples missions to complete on a regular basis, and include black-room interviews afterwards to share their feelings on what happened during filming.
Recent rumours suggested that Lee Jong Suk and Kim Woo Bin were casted on a Chinese version of the show. Jiangsu TV bought the rights for the spinoff from Korean station MBC, from which We Got Married originates.
Both actors’ agencies have respectively quashed all speculation, calling the rumours “not at all true”, adding that they have never been contacted by the station with regards to the show.
A different Chinese spinoff, If You Love, was broadcast last year with miss A’s Fei and 2PM’s Chansung paired up with Chinese or Taiwanese partners. The show focused more on dating rather than married life.
Its broadcaster, Hubei TV announced that the second season would showcase a brand-new cast, brewing curiosity over whether it would have any Korean participants. The station previously denied that Wu Yifan (former EXO member Kris) and Super Junior-M’s Zhoumi would be on the show.
We Got Married’s Chinese edition is slated to air in April.
