miss A’s Suzy is currently considering the leading role in the drama adaptation of hit webtoon Cheese In The Trap. Actor Park Hae Jin is the only cast member to be confirmed for the series thus far.

The romance story revolves around Hongseol, an average college student who gets involved with Yujung, a seemingly Mr. Perfect-type sunbae (senior) from her college. He is also said to have a darker side hiding behind his good looks. Cheese In The Trap is an ongoing webtoon which has amassed a large and devoted following, and scrutiny over casting decisions has been intense since the drama adaptation was confirmed.

Suzy’s casting offer was met with a general outcry from fans and the public alike, with many stating that her acting is not up to standard to convey the complexities involved with Hongseol’s character. This was last seen when Girls’ Generation’s YoonA was first revealed to have been offered the leading role in Cantabile Tomorrow – a role ultimately given to actress Shim Eun Kyung.

Her label, JYP Entertainment, stepped up to clarify that she was merely offered the role and that both sides are still contemplating over the possibility of her taking it up. Emphasising that she has not been confirmed for the role, they shared that further discussions on the casting has yet to take place.

Cheese In The Trap is slated for broadcast later this year on cable channel tvN.
