Korean drama My Love from Another Star, starring Kim Soo Hyun and Jun Ji Hyun, began its run in December 2013 to huge fanfare. Actress Jun Ji Hyun made her first small screen appearance in 14 years, whereas actor Kim Soo Hyun’s burgeoning popularity after starring in The Moon That Embraces The Sun led to high expectations for the drama.
My Love from Another Star was nominated for numerous awards and received over 10 accolades, ranging from Best Actor, Best Drama and Outstanding Korean Drama OST. Most notably, Jun Ji Hyun received the Grand Prize for TV at the 50th Baeksang Arts Awards and Kim Soo Hyun received the Grand Prize at the 7th Korea Drama Awards.
The International Tokyo Drama Festival, which was held yesterday (Oct 23), saw Kim Soo Hyun received the Best Actor in Asia (Foreign Drama) for his role. He also received the Special Award (Foreign Drama) on behalf of the drama.
The on-screen pair previously worked together in blockbuster heist film The Thieves. Kim Soo Hyun is reportedly considering drama Doctor Frankenstein for his next project, which may be his last before serving his mandatory military duty.
