South Korean girl group Rainbow has announced its comeback after over eighteen months. The septet first released a photo of Woori, Jisook and Hyunyoung in late January, in which the trio held a hand-drawn banner which read, “Finally, Rainbow’s comeback” while standing in what seemed to be a photography studio.
Yesterday (Feb 11), they announced their comeback date with the release of their first set of teaser photos. Today, they released a brand new set of photos in which a completely different concept was shown, sparking curiosity over their comeback’s concept.
Rainbow last released their studio albums Rainbow Syndrome in two parts in 2013. They debuted in 2009 with ‘Gossip Girl’ and shot to higher levels of fame with their second mini album, which consisted of songs such as ‘Mach’ and ‘A’.
While the group was on hiatus, the members participated in individual activities such as acting and variety. The group also has two sub-groups, Rainbow Pixie and Rainbow Blaxx.
Rainbow’s third mini album, INNOCENT, will be released on Feb 23.
