Super Junior’s Shindong has enlisted for his mandatory military service. His enlistment comes a week before fellow group mate Sungmin’s, which will be on March 31.

Posting a photo and video on his personal Twitter account prior to enlistment, he shared the process of him shaving off his locks to prepare for his service. In the video, he shaved off the last bit of hair with the electric razor and shed mock tears after it was completed.

He added, “It feels a lot more real after I cut my hair! I’m half concerned, half excited! Everyone I spoke to said the same thing, that I’ll adapt well and there won’t be any problems! I’ll go and return well!”

Shindong has entered active duty, which typically requires 21 months of service. He was initially slated to enlist at the end of last year but postponed his entry date due to a herniated disc but has since recovered.

Both Shindong and Sungmin have announced that their respective enlistments will be done so quietly; without greeting the fans or holding any press events.

Meanwhile, fellow Super Junior member Yesung is slated to be discharged from his duties this May. Following which, he will embark on a Japanese tour in June with subgroup Super Junior-K.R.Y., which includes members Kyuhyun and Ryeowook.
