Shinhwa to perform on Inkigayo for the first time in 8 years

The sextet announced the good news following confirmations of their new album and concert

The longest-running K-Pop boy band, Shinhwa, has announced that they will make a special appearance on weekly music programme Inkigayo this week ahead of the release of their 12th studio album this February.

The sextet debuted in 1998 under S.M Entertainment, which today houses some of K-Pop’s biggest names such as Super Junior and Girls’ Generation. They formed Shinhwa Company in 2011, which all members are now under.

Their last studio album, The Classic, was released in 2013. This album was released a year after The Return, which was released four years after their previous studio album. The group has announced that they will release their 12th studio album at the end of February, with more details to follow. The group has also confirmed that it will hold its 17th Anniversary Concert at the Olympic Park Gymnastic Stadium on March 21-22.

Adding on to the good news was their confirmation of a special performance on Inkigayo’s 800th episode special. This will be Shinhwa's first appearance on the show in eight years. The show is slated to invite more eminent singers to make special appearances. Usual broadcasts of the weekly music programme showcase the latest and most popular releases from a variety of artistes.

Inkigayo’s 800th episode will be aired on January 25.
