SISTAR′s Dasom Says She Considered Quitting Being a Celebrity During Early Debut Days
SISTAR′s Dasom opened up about the difficulties she faced during her debut days.
Dasom is set to appear on the December 27 broadcast of MBN′s National Best Family as the representative for Seoul, Gyeonggi (Goyang). During the recording, Dasom said, "I was in my teens when I made my debut. I entered the real world earlier than those my age, and having encountered a lot of extremely malicious comments, I had a hard time emotionally."
She continued, "As SISTAR became more known, we had up to 50 functions a month. There′s only one me, but there were thousands of daggers flying at me. Those things became a burden to me, and everytime I stood on stage, I often felt like, ′I′m not a perosn who is strong can stand in front of others."
Dasom said, "I told my mom, ′I think I need to quit being a celebrity,′ but my mom said, ′I like that I have a daughter I can be proud of, but why can′t my daughter be happy?′ She meant that she was happy that she had a daughter to be proud of. So in that moment, I thought if I just bear and overcome it, my whole family can be happy. I thought maybe I′m only looking at the difficult reality in front of me right now. I′ve come this far gazing into the distant future and thinking I need to work harder. I′m thankful because I think I′m here now because of my mom′s words."
Despite it being Dasom′s first time on a variety show in a year, she didn′t hold her tongue and showed off her sexy dance skills. The episode airs on December 27 at 9:30 p.m. KST.
