SNSD Taeyeon′s ′I′ Tops Album Charts in 13 Countries
Taeyeon′s first solo album I is heating up abroad as well.
Taeyeon′s first solo album I was released worldwide via iTunes on October 7, and it is ranked number one on albums charts in 13 countries, including Hong Kong, Thailand, Taiwan, Macau, Singapore, Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Panama, Brunei, Costa Rica and Guatemala, number two in Sweden and Japan, number three in Mexico, Portugal and Hungary, number four in New Zealand, Finland and Colombia, as well as number five in the U.S., Canada and Cambodia, ranking in the top five in countries across Asia, the Americas, Europe and Oceania.The album is also ranked number one on iTunes′ pop albums charts in 16 countries, including 11 Asian countries and three countries in the Americas as well as Sweden and Mexico, number two in the U.S. Canada, New Zealand and Japan, number three in Australia, Spain, Finland, Chile, India and Ghana, number five in Ireland, Russia and Brazil, as well as number six in France and Turkey, entering the top 10 on the pop albums charts in Asia, the Americas, Europe, Oceania and Africa.
The lead single from I also ranked number one on eight music charts in Korea, including MelOn, Genie, Bugs, Naver Music, Olleh Music, Mnet Music, Soribada and Monkey3, as soon as it was released at midnight on October 7.
The music video for I was also released at noon on October 7 via Taeyeon′s official website and SMTOWN′s official YouTube channel, capturing New Zealand′s nature and Taeyeon playing two characters.
Meanwhile, Taeyeon will kick off music program promotions with Mnet′s M COUNTDOWN on October 8, before performing on KBS′ Music Bank on October 9 and MBC′s Music Core on October 10.
