YG Entertainment has firmly shot down rumours that a G-Dragon and Justin Bieber collaboration is in the works, maintaining that the musician is focusing on his group, BIGBANG’s album.
News reports last year said that the two confirmed that they had finished recording a track together and were intending it for a 2015 release. Korean news outlet Star News quoted senior YG officials, who said that the two singers will not be proceeding with the joint project.
The label added that the 26-year-old is devoted to working on BIGBANG’s new album, which is slated to be released sometime this year. The group has been working on their respective individual projects since their last mini album, Alive was released in 2012.
Despite having debuted in 2006, the group only has two full Korean studio albums, with the more recent one, Remember, released in 2008. The repeated postponement of the group’s comeback has worried some fans, who have called for all five members to stand on the same stage and promote as one.
Meanwhile, G-Dragon, T.O.P, Daesung, Taeyang and Seungri have each released solo music tracks, with the band experimenting with different types of music through their varying musical efforts.
BIGBANG recently wrapped up their Japan Dome Tour 'X' in Osaka's Kyocera Dome on January 18.
