Asda have pleaded for customers not to dance on their checkouts.

A spokesperson for the nationwide supermarket chain - owned by US firm Walmart - requested for shoppers to refrain from showing off their moves while in a store in Huddersfield after a man caused the bagging area of a self-service checkout machine to malfunction.

The individual, who calls himself DiscoBoy, posted a clip of his dance moves in the supermarket in Huddersfield on YouTube, prompting the company's strange response.

The spokesperson said: "As much as we appreciate a good joke, the unexpected items in the bagging area actually broke the bagging area.

"We'd ask our customers to use our checkouts to pay for their shopping and not to showcase their dance moves."
