Benedict Cumberbatch is getting Oscar advice from Matthew McConaughey.

The 'Imitation Game' star is nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor for his portrayal as Alan Turing in the biographical film and has reportedly been receiving advice on what to say if he wins at tomorrow (22.02.15) night's ceremony by last year's victor.

A source told the Daily Star newspaper: "Matthew's told him to keep cool, there's a huge mixture of happiness and nerves, and he's said Benedict should keep a level head.

"Secondly, he's told him to thank his family and wife Sophie [Hunter]. And his third piece of advice was to just enjoy the moment and have one heck of a party afterwards."

The nomination for an Oscar clearly meant a lot to the 38-year-old star as he admitted it was the "one of the proudest moments of my life" to tell his parents - Timothy Carlton and Wanda Ventham - about the nod.

He said at the time the nominations were announced: "I am knocked for six by this. So excited and honoured to receive this recognition. It's wonderful to be included by the academy in this exceptional year of performances.

"To ring my parents who are both actors and tell them that their only son has been nominated for an Oscar is one of the proudest moments of my life."
