Cate Blanchett used to dye her arm hair.
The 'Carol' star admits she tried the bizarre technique in a bid to hide her arm hair but ended up with copper orange and purple patches on her skin as a result.
When asked about her worst hair mistake by Allure magazine, she admitted: "Bleaching my arm hair in high school - it was copper orange in patches and purple in others. Never again."
Meanwhile, the 46-year-old actress previously revealed she lost some of her hair from stress when she played Blanche DuBois in Broadway show 'A Streetcar Named Desire'.
Recalling the time she was asked to continue her run for another three months, she shared: "I didn't think I could play her for another three months. I'd lost a lot of weight and my hair was falling out."
And whilst Cate takes extra care now to ensure her hair is in tip-top condition, she won't be snapping selfies all the time as she thinks they are "pathetic".
She said: "People constantly are taking pictures of ourselves to send them to people to see if they like me, 'Do they like me?' It's pathetic, the whole thing about people worrying about what other people are going to think. I just can't handle it. Of course you want people to go see the film that you make, of course you want them to enjoy them. But I'm not out there saying, 'Do they like the way I look?'... You have to say, 'This is what I'm doing right now.'"
