Cow gives birth on farm with no bull
A cow has given birth on a farm with no bull.
The Dexter cow, named Harriet, has baffled staff at the Pinewood Nurseries in Stoke Poge, Buckinghamshire, after falling pregnant and delivering a calf without having come into contact with a male on their land.
The nurseries' owner Liz Robinson said: "We had absolutely no idea Harriet was pregnant until she woke us up in labour.
"She didn't look any different to the others - just another fat cow.
"We have never bred cows at the nursery so we don't have any bulls."
Liz, 30 - who runs the farm with her husband Tom and sister Maria - was left scratching her head over the immaculate conception, reports the Daily Mirror newspaper.
However, it is now thought the cow could have been expecting before she was bought by the business.
