An easyJet flight was delayed for an hour because the pilot had a problem with his eye.

The pilot was forced to delay the flight from Manchester to Berlin because he suffered an allergic reaction, while he was also troubled by conjunctivitis, meaning he had to attend hospital, the Manchester Evening News reports.

A passenger explained: "The flight was delayed by over an hour because, we were told, the pilot had something in his eye.

"That hasn't happened to me on a flight before."

Meanwhile, an easyJet spokeswoman said: "The safety and wellbeing of its passengers and crew is easyJet's highest priority. We would like to apologise to passengers for any inconvenience caused."
