Nearly one in two people in a relationship think their partner should lose some weight.

However, the report, commissioned by Magners Orchard Berries Light, found that one in three are too scared to say anything to their other half.

Karen Crowley, Brands Marketing Manager at Magners, said: "Swapping favourite food and drink for a lower calorie version rather than drastic cuts or big lifestyle changes is the key to sustainable change."

The study also revealed that one in five people have put on a weight-loss TV programme in the hope it might inspire their partner to shed a few pounds.

Magners, the premium Irish Cider brand, commissioned the research to support the launch of Magners Orchard Berries Light which is only 103 calories. Please visit Magners.co.uk for more information
