Ryan Reynolds is in talks to star in 'Life'.
The 39-year-old actor - who has been busy on the promotional trail for his superhero movie 'Deadpool' which has so far banked $282 million at the box office since it was released last week - is in negotiations to take on the lead role in the science fiction thriller.
If he signs on the dotted line he will join 'Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation' actress Rebecca Ferguson, who has already signed up to appear in the film which is reportedly set on the International Space Station.
Though few details have been revealed about the storyline, it's rumoured that the plot will follow a group of astronauts who analyse samples procured from Mars which indicate there is intelligent life on the 'Red Planet'.
'Deadpool' writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese have been drafted in to pen the script and the movie will be directed by Daniel Espinosa - who worked with Ryan on 2012's 'Safe House'.
Reynolds will next be seen in cinemas in the thriller 'Criminal' alongside Kevin Costner, Gary Oldman and Tommy Lee Jones from April 15.
