A commuter travelling on a Southeastern train service tweeted for help as he was trapped in the train's toilet.

A panicked commuter on a Southeastern journey tweeted for help whilst trapped in the train's toilet.

While traveling on the train from London Blackfriars to Oprington, Kent, company executive, Steve Staples tweeted from the train's lavatory to the rail company, with a tweet that read: "@Se_Railway I'm stuck in a toilet - just pulling to elephant and castle, please help. Going to Orpington. (sic)"

He then exchanged several tweets with the company.

One, which read: "@Se_Railway ok thanks. please try and be quick, it's not a great smell!"

And the final tweet - which confirmed the power of social media in his hour of need - read: "@Se_Railway I'm free!!! Thank you. (sic)"
