Val Kilmer is "praying for a speedy return".
The 55-year-old actor was rushed to hospital on Monday night (26.01.15) when he began bleeding from his throat, and while he revealed he has no tumour and didn't undergo emergency throat surgery as had been reported, he said he stayed at the medical facility in Los Angeles so he received the best possible care as he recovered.
Writing on his official Facebook page, he said: "Thank you for all your sweet support. But I have not had a tumor, or a tumor operations, or any operation. I had a complication where the best way to receive care was to stay under the watchful eye of the ucla ICU. (sic)."
The 'Batman Forever' star - who has 23-year-old daughter Mercedes and 19-year-old son Jack with his ex-wife Joanne Whalley - added his friends purposely did not address any rumours while he was in hospital in a bid to reduce "silly talk".
He explained: "Friends have assisted who know my spiritual convictions and have been most sensitive and kind for the extra effort in making sure there's minimum gossip and silly talk."
However, the acclaimed actor - who has starred in 'Top Gun', 'Heat' and 'Kiss Kiss Bang Bang' among other films - is now hoping to recover swiftly so he can return to acting imminently.
He concluded: "I am praying for a speedy return to the boards as they say. God bless you all and please don't worry. Love and deep affection , Val (sic)."
