There was quite a flurry of activity on local artistes’ feeds this past week, from Madonna fever to babies to a public apology for one very famous “retirement” saga. Click through for more:

Two weeks after her “retiring” fiasco first broke out and a week after her last update clarifying that “my career is nowhere near over”, Becks broke her silence with a public apology on all her social media accounts. “Recently, I've been reminded that being an artiste comes with great responsibilities. I know I have upset many of you, including those dearest to me. Please accept my humblest apologies. I've taken to heart many lessons, and hope that you will be patient with me as I continue to learn and grow,” she wrote, before thanking her official fan club, family and friends for their “love and concern”.

Most of the comments that followed were largely of support, reassuring her that they were behind her always. Rebecca’s good friend – and rumoured beau – Ian Fang also put up a cryptic post twenty minutes after hers that was seemingly in response, saying, “Sometimes we let our hearts rule our heads, once it has passed, it’s fine. When your hair gets messed up, just tidy it and you will still look good.”

Ah Jie Zoe Tay also showed some love with an adorable selfie of the two (we hope that's a wig Becks is wearing, but that's a story for another day). "Seeing you get hurt, my heart hurts," she wrote. "Hold on a little while longer, take a step back, and everything will calm down. Little sister, jiayou!"

Madonna madness has struck Singapore, and our local celebs were certainly not spared: over the past week (and before that), folks like Ya Hui, Zoe, Nat and Yifong could not help but show off their tickets to her first Lion City gig tonight.

So if you’ll be there tonight, you might just be dancing and rocking out right next to an equally pumped up artiste. Have fun!

The tough celebrity host, who filmed travel programme Going Home while pregnant with her second child, gave birth to an almost-Leap-Day baby on Friday (Feb 26), a little earlier than her March due date. “Thank you for coming into our world! We love you!” wrote the happy mummy to her little boy. May Phua and Cynthia Koh were among the first to offer their congratulations on her post.

Congratulations were also in order for Gurmit and his wife Melissa, who celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary on Thursday (Feb 25). Gurmit posted a picture of a huge sunflower bouquet he bought for her and quipped, “I bought just one flower. Cheapo? Real reason- there is Only ONE YOU. (sic)” Awww…

With the inaugural Celebrity Sports Day looming just around the corner (mark the date March 12 on your calendars!), the all-star contenders have been busy promoting the event by dropping by radio stations across Mediacorp.

For Class 95 DJ Jean Danker, it gave her the opportunity for a “homecoming” of sorts when she visited the 987FM booth, where she used to spin 10 years ago, with Carrie Wong, Kimberly Wang and Tay Ping Hui. “Fun, felt like home right away! This station will always have a special place in my heart,” she wrote.

So, typical close-up tangyuan photos on the last day of Chinese New Year (which was on Monday) are nice and all, but we have to give it to these gals for upping their ball game with out-of-the-ordinary food shots, such as Michelle’s sumptuous home-cooked feast (with hearty meatballs instead of just rice dumplings) and Zoe’s super pretty, bright and colourful capture. We also really like Joanne’s tired-but-happy-looking picture with a simple bowl that was taken “only when baby is asleep”, no doubt snapped by hubby Qi Yuwu.

Oh no! It looks like poor Zed Zed is down with something. “My heart breaks. This is the first time he’s had to eat so much medicine,” wrote his upset mother. Get well soon, little one!

Hot young things Kimberly, Xu Bin and Aloysius posted sweet birthday dedications to their Noon Talk boss for his 44th birthday (yes, we can’t believe he’s in his mid-40s either) on Monday (Feb 22). Dasmond also shared a big, happy wefie taken during a small party to thanks everyone “for being there always”.

“Chubby babies are the cutest!!!” wrote the Selfie’s Tale star, and we couldn’t agree more – just look at those cheeks!

Also, a bonus for the ladies: that bare, muscular arm.

Hmmm, could Andie Chen and Kate Pang’s little boy be displaying early signs of developing an interest in hairdressing? Perhaps David Gan could take him under his wing…

The 987FM presenter did a fantastic job of turning all Harry Potter fans green with envy with his snapshots from London, where he sipped on Butterbeer, visited Hogwarts’ Great Hall and checked out the Hogwarts Express. A couple of days later, it was Coldplay devotees’ turn to be envious as he shared snaps of him extremely close to the stage at their concert.

Now, if only that Apparition (or teleportation) spell existed in real life…

While in Los Angeles for his concert, JJ “bumped into a few friends on the street”, namely singer/actress/host Xie Na and her husband Zhang Jie. It’s a small world after all.

Mrs. Alfred Sim debuted a funky new hair colour this week, a lovely soft pink with blonde highlights that makes her look like she jumped straight out of a fantasy anime. Unsurprisingly, the bold change immediately drew compliments from commenters, who said she suited the look (and we agree wholeheartedly).

Feel an urge to book an appointment with your colourist yet?

Michelle in a bridal gown! Could it be…!?

“#BridalShoot #GettingMarriedNOT #BetterSayProperly,” read the hashtags in her caption. Dang it. At least now we know she’d make a gorgeous bride.

Well, look who we have here. Long time no see, Aunty Lucy, and still looking as good as usual! The beloved character was invited to make an appearance at a hotel in Batam, and one netizen commented on the post, “I was there to see your show, very funny. Well done” (to which Dennis personally replied with thanks).
