[2017 MAMA] 2017 MAMA Confirmed to be Held in Vietnam, Japan and Hong Kong!
CJ E&M has confirmed that 2017 MAMA (Mnet Asian Music Awards) will be held in the 3 countries Vietnam, Japan and Hong Kong between November 25 through December 1. Following the expansion of Asia′s top music awards, MAMA WEEK has been established to combine MAMA being held in the different locations.
2017 MAMA will begin in Vietnam′s Hoa Binh Theatre on November 29 before heading to Japan′s Yokohama Arena on November 29, Hong Kong′s W Hong Kong on November 30 and finally finishing in Hong Kong′s AsiaWorld-Expo, Arena on December 1.The expansion of MAMA from a one day event to a week long ceremony that takes place across Asia reveals MAMA′s willingness to expand harmony and Asian music. In order for 2017 MAMA to be a place where people become one through music, CJ E&M is working on inviting Asia′s top artists and also preparing programs for the audience to communicate with the artists in a close space.
A representative of CJ E&M shared, "With our experience from the last 9 years, we will expand ′MAMA′ to confirm that it is the largest music ceremony in Asia." They continued, "We will create ′2017 MAMA′ be to a place where everyone in Asia who loves music to enjoy."
Meanwhile, MAMA, which is on its 9th year, is CJ E&M′s top Asian music ceremony. It began as Mnet Video Music Awards in 1999 and was held in Korea for 10 years before MAMA was established in 2009. In 2010, MAMA first expanded globally by being held in Macau and has since been held in Singapore in 2011 and in Hong Kong from 2012 through 2016. This year, MAMA will expand to Vietnam and Japan.
