Idol groups such as EXO and BTS have cancelled their scheduled events in light of the MERS situation in South Korea.
EXO was slated to have a fan-sign session for fashion brand SPAO on June 7 and a concert in Busan tomorrow (June 10) but have postponed the events indefinitely.
Likewise, BTS cancelled their second anniversary fan meeting, which was supposed to take place on June 13. In a statement, they explained that their decision to cancel the event was made after taking the fans’ health and safety into consideration.
They added that they will try to reschedule the event but have made no promises if it will be able to pull through. Their label, BigHit Entertainment, added that ticket refunds will be made to all fans.
Other events, such as the Black Music Stage, which was to feature hip-hop acts Mad Clown, Junggigo and Loco were also cancelled due to the same reason. Likewise, a press conference for the film Assassination, which stars Jun Ji Hyun and Lee Jung Jae, was also cancelled.
