EXO’s Kai and BLACKPINK’s Jennie confirm dating rumours

Every year, Korean media outlet Dispatch releases a ‘New Year couple’ reveal, with past relationship reveals including GDRAGON and former After School member Jooyeon, along with the now-married pair, Rain and Kim Tae Hee.

This year was no exception, with Dispatch unveiling the year’s first couple to be EXO’s Kai and BLACKPINK’s Jennie. While her agency, YG Entertainment, first shared that they had to confirm the rumours, his label, SM Entertainment, quickly confirmed the news with a short, “Kai and Jennie have grown fond of each other”. YG soon changed their stance by concurring with SM.

Kai and Jennie were said to have been spotted on at least three occasions by Dispatch: first in Paris back in October when they were there for work-related schedules, followed by late-night dates on November 25 and December 2.

Apart from Kai and Jennie, another couple rang in the New Year with some good news – longtime Running Man cast member Lee Kwang Soo confirmed that he is dating actress Lee Sun Bin after the pair met on the variety show, and the duo is reported to have fallen in love at first sight.

In related news, there were more reasons to cheer as actor Yeon Jung Hoon made a surprising announcement during his acceptance speech for his Top Excellence Award during the 2018 MBC Drama Awards held on December 30.

He shared that he and his wife, actress Han Ga In, are expecting their second child together. “I would also like to thank my wife, who always cheers for me and is my number one fan (…) we will be welcoming a new addition to the family (in 2019). I hope that our baby is born healthy and strong and that we’ll live happily together.”

The couple tied the knot in 2005 and welcomed their first child in 2016. They previously announced that they were expecting a child in 2014, but Han Ga In suffered a miscarriage shortly after.
