′Idol School′ Successfully Airs First Episode

Mnet′s new girl group reality program Idol School has successfully aired the first episode on July 13.

The first broadcast of Idol School showed huge success with not only the program trending on portal sites, but also the names of the students trending as well. Through the first episode, viewers were introduced to the 41 students for the first time. Before gathering in the classroom, the students had a chance to introduce themselves one at a time. There were a few familiar faces from trainees of YG Entertainment and JYP Entertainment, to previous Produce 101 Season 1 contestant Lee Hae In.

Additionally, before officially beginning classes, the students were evaluated in their vocal, dancing abilities and stamina. Upon completing the vocal evaluation, student Natty was selected as the top vocalist by teacher Bada. Student Tasha received the number 1 ranking with her powerful and confident dance moves. Additionally, students Kim Eun Seo, Song Ha Young and Lee Yoo Jung were ranked 1, 2 and 3, respectively, in the stamina category.

After the completion of the day, the students gathered at their dorm, wrote in their dairy about their first day and spent time with one another.

At the end of the broadcast, the real-time votes revealed Lee Hae In to have ranked number 1 for the first episode.

Meanwhile, through Idol School students will train for a span of 11 weeks before 9 top students debut as a girl group at the completion of the program. Idol School airs every Thursday at 9:30PM KST through Mnet and tvN.
