Fans of Hallyu girl group Wonder Girls had their hopes raised this morning when Korean new outlet Sports Donga released an exclusive report stating that they would be making their first comeback in three years.
Stating that Sunmi and Sunye would also join in for the return, they went on to claim that the Wonder Girls were planning to film their music video in the near future, causing a stir amongst netizens and fans alike. The group’s activities came to a screeching halt after leader Sunye tied the knot and gave birth while Sohee has also since left JYP Entertainment.
Responding swiftly to the report, their label JYP Entertainment shot down all speculations and stated that nothing has been decided, including the members involved, comeback period and more.
This is not the first time JYP has responded in such a way, with many hoping for the group to make their grand return to the K-Pop scene. Others have speculated that Sunye will not make their return to the group after she revealed her intention to serve as a missionary in Haiti for five years, beginning in 2014.
