South Korean actors Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo announced that they would be getting married on October 31 after going public with their relationship this July.
The pair was recently spotted catching a flight to Los Angeles, and in a photo uploaded by a passenger on the same flight, Hye Kyo appeared to be wearing a slim silver ring on her right hand. This immediately raised questions about whether that was an engagement ring that Joong Ki used to propose.
Prior to boarding their flight, Joong Ki displayed his gentlemanly side where he supported and took special care to keep his wife-to-be safe from bumping into other passengers at the terminal.
The couple was previously speculated to be heading to America for their wedding photoshoot, but those claims were refuted by their representatives. However, fresh rumours that they are holding a secret shoot in San Francisco have emerged after it was revealed that photographer Hong Jang Hyun, along with hairstylists and makeup artists joined the couple in the USA.
The couple first met on the set of the hit Korean television series, Descendants of the Sun and were often seen spending time with one another after the series ended. They adamantly denied the dating rumours but to the delight of fans, finally confirmed their relationship in July along with the surprise announcement of their engagement and wedding date.
The show’s screenwriter Kim Eun Sook has been credited as the biggest matchmaker in the pair’s romance. She revealed at a press conference on September 6 that it was “Joong Ki’s character in the drama (Yoo Shi Jin) that changed him in real life.”
When asked if she thought the sweet storyline between the two in the drama played a part in bringing Joong Ki and Hye Kyo together, Eun Sook was quick to reply, “That’s a question that Hye Kyo herself should answer.”
However, the writer revealed that the 35-year-old actress did mention about how her fiancé used to have a very macho personality, but became more sensitive after working on the series.
