Celeb Crushin’: Kim Myung Soo

Remember back in the day when we used to run our weekly column, Celeb Crushin’? Well, we’re back with a special edition of the series for a very special reason: Kim Myung Soo – also known as INFINITE’s L – has kicked off his first-ever solo fanmeeting tour, and Singapore’s on his hit list.

For those who haven’t heard yet, he’ll be holding his first fan meeting in Singapore on September 23, and for those who can’t get enough of him, head down to West Coast Plaza a day before his fan meeting, where he will be holding a public press conference. Don’t say bojio.

Without further ado, we present the top five reasons why fans – and perhaps you will too, after this – love Kim Myung Soo. Read on for more.

And that’s just on stage. Not only is he a great singer, but he’s also part of INFINITE, which equates to him having super slick dance moves.

The cherry on top is probably his ability to play the guitar, which he’s showcased during his solo stages at INFINITE’s concert tours, among other occasions.

You might only know of his latest project – The Emperor: Owner of the Mask, where he played the love-driven commoner-turned-puppet-king Lee Sun, but did you know that his acting roots go way back?

Apart from cameos in dramas such as Salamander Guru and the Shadows and The Time We Were Not In Love, he’s also acted in projects such as My Catman, The Day After We Broke Up and My Lovely Girl.

In 2015, he was also casted for his first movie role in Mr. Shark. While that film has yet to hit cinemas, we can’t wait to see what new tricks he has up his sleeve for this one.

In 2015, Myung Soo introduced his cat Byeol (which translates to Star), an adorable grey feline that he adores – and you know what they say about men who love pets – or cats, for the matter.

In the same year, he also spent his one-day break volunteering at an abandoned cat protection centre, where he joined other volunteers in cleaning up and feeding the kitties that are housed there. While he was there, he shared that he wanted to adopt another cat to keep Byeol company, but there’s no word if he’s managed to do that. Given his busy schedule, we can understand why.

On stage, INFINITE’s L looks like a cold person whose good looks are enough to scare any mere mortal away. In reality, however, he’s known by his fans to be an adorable dork (and some say klutz) who loves smiling and talking.

That aside, he’s also said to have a “4D” (four-dimensional) personality (it means these people are a tad strange and sometimes incomprehensible), which endears him to his fans. While he’s been called crazy (in a good way, of course) by them, he revealed that what they see is only 10 percent of his true personality. Wow.

Having released his first photo essay in 2013, L’s Bravo Viewtiful was, to say the least, impressive. From time to time, he also uploads his snaps onto his Instagram page to share with his fans.

He’s also used his photography skills for work, as he was revealed to have been girl group Lovelyz’s photographer while they were shooting their music video in Japan. Not only did he help with their photos, but he also designed their logo. Seriously though, just how many feathers does he have in his hat?
