He may have had his first gig in Singapore sell out just eight hours after tickets were released last year, but as British singer Ed Sheeran joked humbly to his audience last night, “It’s my first time here and I didn’t even know if anyone would turn up.”

However, the 24-year-old crooner, who recently walked away with two big awards at the BRIT Awards 2015 enjoyed a massive crowd of over 5000 fans.

Ed got the audience heated up when he hollered at the start of the show, “I will lose my voice tonight, you will lose yours too!"

The two-hour concert saw him performing approximately 16 songs and mash-ups. Fans who had been waiting to catch him live were energetic throughout the concert, leaping to their feet during Ed’s opening song.

With Singapore being the penultimate Asian leg of his concert tour, Ed will continue to tour Australia, New Zealand and the Americas before wrapping up his tour in Europe later this year.

We relive the best moments of Ed’s concert last night by looking at five different sides he has shown at his show.

When you say ‘Ed Sheeran’, the first thought that pops up in most people’s minds would be wedding favourite "Thinking Out Loud", which Is also the leading single of his latest album Multiply, released last June.

Standing with just a guitar strapped to him on stage, the 24-year-old blew his audience away when he sang about the different phases of love on the guitar with his eyes shut in contemplation.

The sensitive musicians brought some heart-wrenching songs on breakups and the dow side of love like "Drunk" and "I’m a Mess" while serenading the crowd with some of his sappy ballads like "Kiss Me, Tenerife Sea".

Of course, Ed could not leave out the song that established his status in the scene today, "Thinking Out Loud", and we love how his fans have turned their phones into impromptu light-sticks and synchronously waved to his ballads while softly singing along.

Though Ed had us screaming and cheering for more of his love renditions, he showed that he is equally capable of stealing the scene as a, er, rapper.

Ed instantly switched the mood when he began belting several of his rap-laden songs like Take It Back, rapidly throwing out tongue-tying lyrics that swept the audience off their feet.

Adding a twist by weaving in Iggy Azalea and Charli XCX’s "Fancy" into his song "You Need Me, I Don’t Need You" released in the early days of his career, Ed channelling angst and his desire to be a carefree musician as he was once asked to ‘ditch his red hair’ and stick to one music genre when he first began as a singer.

We know the crowd adored the idea of rapper Ed as their cheers only got louder every time he rapped faster.

Ed and his little Martin – that is probably the signature look that the 24-year-old has whenever he is on stage.

But Ed had definitely shown his fans that he knows more than that when he constantly interchanged between his acoustic guitars of varying sizes and breezed through the music scales with his fast fingers.

If that was not enough to win the cheers from his fans, Ed even playing an electric guitar solely for "Thinking Out Loud" and showed off his other tricks like beatboxing.

Though he was a man of few words on his show, as he chose to dedicate more time to singing to his fans, Ed kept the atmosphere at its peak throughout the night and put out a stunning performance.

To get the crowd going, Ed included hits like "The A Team", "House" and "Sing" in his setlist.

And we can we say just how much we adore him for doing covers of classic pop songs like Stevie Wonder’s "Superstition" and Blackstreet’s "No Diggity"?

Despite being a one-man show, Ed engaged his audience right from the start of the show when he said, “Feel free to sing along if you know the songs,” and of course, the audience complied.

Kudos to Ed’s die-hard fans for standing right from the beginning of the concert to the very end. They left us in awe as they clearly knew every of his songs by heart (even the harmonisation to his melody and when to do a glissando in his songs).

Cat-lover? Check. Plays the guitar well? Check.

Just one look at the similarities and close bond between Ed and American country-pop singer Taylor Swift and they may easily be one of the sweetest BFFs around.

During his interview with the media a few hours before his concert yesterday night, Ed proved his solid friendship with the 25-year-old by mentioning her in most of his answers to the questions posted to him.

When asked about the musician he respected the most in the industry, Taylor came to his mind almost instantly.

“I respect people who like their job and Taylor Swift is one of them. I like how she is always so excited to share her new songs and confident of it, unlike most people who would play them for you and ask ‘What do you think of it?’” he replied without hesitation.

Having collaborated with many big acts like Pharrell Williams, written songs for popular British boy group One Direction and nonetheless, sang a duet with his best buddy Taylor, we were curious to know if he already has plans installed for his next collaboration.

“I don’t usually like to plan for my collaborations. They usually just come naturally,” he replied candidly.

However, he quipped at the last minute, “Maybe (with) Taylor, but nothing’s been confirmed. We were just discussing but nothing’s final yet”. (How awesome is that?)

We sure hope the collaboration would come true, Ed. We would gladly love another duet like "Something Has Changed" sometime soon.
