SA2015: Jeanette Aw off to a good start in online Favourite categories

The results from the first round of voting for the Star Awards 2015 online Favourite categories are in! And, it’s clear that Jeanette Aw’s fans are determined to help their muse bring home the Favourite Female Character and Favourite Onscreen Couple trophies for the second year in a row.

The actress, who can currently be seen as a breakup-chronicling blogger on Channel U’s Let It Go, is in the lead for Favourite Female Character (as good-natured nurse Hong Ming Hui in The Journey: Tumultuous Times) and Favourite Onscreen Couple with first-time nominee Zhang Zhen Huan (as Mo Yu Qing and Gao Guo Tian in World at Your Feet) as of March 3, 5pm.

Trailing behind her in second place for Favourite Female Character is fellow fan favourite Rui En, who is nominated for her portrayal of psychiatrist Qiu Xue Qing in Against the Tide, followed by Rebecca Lim for Yes We Can, Kimberly Chia for World at Your Feet and Felicia Chin for In the Name of Love.

Rui En, who is contending for Best Actress with the same role, is also up for Favourite Onscreen Couple with Li Nan Xing for C.L.I.F. 3, a pairing which currently holds the number four spot after Zhen Huan and Jeanette, Romeo Tan and Rebecca Lim for Yes We Can, and Ian Fang and Kimberly Chia for World at Your Feet. Reel-to-real lovers Joanne Peh and Qi Yuwu are last on the list in this category (for C.L.I.F. 3), at least for this week.

Over at Favourite Male Character, three-time champ Elvin Ng is going strong in first place for his role as Wu Wei Xiong in World at Your Feet. But don’t rest on your laurels just yet, elves (Elvin’s fans) – this is only week one and we’re told it’s an extremely close fight among the guys, so it’s important to keep your votes coming in to ensure he maintains his promising position.

For devotees of Xu Bin, Aloysius Pang, Romeo Tan and Zhang Zhen Huan (now in second, third, fourth and fifth place respectively), as well as of those not in first place in the other categories this week, it’s still not too late to get your faves to the top before the victors are announced at Star Awards 2015 Show 1.

Voting kicked off at noon on 25 February and will continue until April 19 at 9pm. Results are based completely on the public votes on the Star Awards 2015 microsite.
