SA2016: Joanne Peh, Lee Teng, Pornsak out of Top 20 this week

Aloysius Pang, Jeffrey Xu and Jesseca Liu are still in the game and show their staying power with the help of their fans.

Supporters of new mum Joanne Peh who’d like to see the actress receive her 10th Most Popular Female Artiste trophy this year – and join hubby Qi Yuwu in the All-Time Favourite Artiste group next year— would need to buck up in their voting efforts.

With the exit of Joanne and Sheila in the Top 10 polls this week, the list welcomes three new faces: Hong Hui Fang, Belinda Lee and Tong Bing Yu (formerly known as Chris Tong).

In no order of ranking, the remaining seven spots on this week’s Top 10 Most Popular Female Artistes update are filled by Carrie Wong, Felicia Chin, Julie Tan, Kym Ng, Paige Chua, Rebecca Lim and Ya Hui. There are 11 names in total for this week’s Top 10 Most Popular Female Artistes ranking due to a tie at the 10th spot.

Over to the men, new dad Shaun Chen and Left Profile artistes Lee Teng and Pornsak failed to make the cut in the Top 10 list this week.

Their spots are taken over by Zhang Yao Dong, whose last win was in 2012, and actor, deejay and host Dennis Chew and Zhang Zhen Huan whose last Top 10 wins happened in 2014.

In no order of ranking, the remaining five spots on this week’s Top 10 Most Popular Male Artistes update are filled by Elvin Ng, Romeo Tan, Shane Pow, Shaun Chen and Xu Bin.

For ardent supporters of those who did not make it, there’s still time to make a difference in the final outcome with the Star Awards ceremonies (Part 1 and Part 2) happening only in five and six weeks’ time. Fans of those who made it in this week’s Top 10 list, don’t forget to keep voting because you never know when your favourites might get overtaken.

Telepoll hotlines and online voting for the Star Awards 2016 Top 20 Most Popular Artistes are now open until April 17, 8.30pm (for female artistes) and April 24, 8.30pm (for male artistes).
