Descendants of the Sun might have finished its highly-successful run some time ago, but celebs all over the world have shown their support (and possible closeted fangirling/fanboying) over the drama.

Last week, local singer Kelly Poon uploaded a Chinese cover of an OST track from the series, ‘Always’, onto her Facebook account and has amassed over 1.2 million views since. Apart from Kelly, this special edition of Celeb Crushin’ brings you a list of celebs who have shown that they too are not immune from the charms of Descendants.

Teaming up with fellow local singer Jeric Tan for this cover, the duo covered ‘Always’, off the drama’s Original Sound Track, after writing a set of Chinese lyrics for it. The original was sung by Yoon Mi Rae, who has also sung OSTs for dramas such as Who Are You: School 2015.

Romeo received a hoverboard for his birthday last month and uploaded a video of himself tinkering around with his new toy. The background music? ‘Everytime’, off Descendants of the Sun’s OST of course.

Back then, his post was hashtagged with #IhaveyettowatchDOTS, but we wonder if he’s had time to catch up since then.

Cai Weibin, Xie Jiafa and Tan Yanwei went all out Descendants for one of their recent events, with the promotional poster photoshopped to replace the leads’ faces with their own. Over at the event itself, the trio subtly rocked the military print trend – we spotted the pattern on their sleeves, jacket, hat and cargo pants.

The cast of Hurry up, Brother (the Chinese version of Running Man) channeled their inner Yoo Shi Jins (Song Joong Ki’s character’s name in Descendants) for a special episode, where the cast, which includes Angelababy and former EXO member Luhan, dressed up as the much-loved captain of the Alpha team.

It was later confirmed that Song Joong Ki would also make an appearance on the show. The crew of Hurry Up, Brother includes PD  (Production Director) Im Hyung Taek, helmed Running Man back in the days when Joong Ki was a fixed cast member.

In a recent interview with Taiwanese media, Dal Shabet, represented by Serri, declared their love (literally) for Yoo Shi Jin (and not Song Joong Ki), complete with ‘Wo Ai Ni’ (Chinese for I love you).

With enough luck, they might be able to find themselves professing their love in person on a variety show soon. Fingers crossed!

Also known as Song Joong Ki’s BFF, Kwang Soo showed up for a Running Man filming session dressed up in the trademark military outfit that Yoo Shi Jin often donned in Descendants. For that episode, cast members Kim Ji Won and Jin Goo appeared as guests and were tickled pink by his comedic impersonations of the show.

Song Hye Gyo, the female lead of Descendants, uploaded a video that showed her decade-long friendship with Heavenly King Leon Lai. In the video, he gave the series a big thumbs up while she thanked him for his support and called him a “loyal friend/brother”.

If you thought that Yoo Shi Jin was too good to be true, you’re probably right. SNL Korea did a parody of the show, with a series of hilarious expectation versus reality scenes. Even if you haven’t watched the show, you’ll definitely be able to appreciate this video.
