Insta-buzz: The best this week (May 14-20)

Jeanette took off to Thailand for a “trip of indulgence” earlier this week, and we’ve been salivating at all the scrumptious food she’s been indulging in since then. Meanwhile, Cynthia left our sunny (or should we say rainy) shores for the town of Ubud in Bali, Indonesia on Thursday, and just look at that haze-free sky!

Love is in the air for sure! Rebecca’s little sister will be getting hitched this weekend, and the actress, who will be a bridesmaid for the sixth time, is already counting down to the big day. Congratulations to Rebecca’s family!

The main cast of If Only I Could showed off their good relationship in this picture Andie sneaked at their press conference earlier this week, with Andie labelling Paige Chua and Elvin Ng as the “two crazies” who photobombed his wefie with Rui En.

Fann celebrated the seventh anniversary of her ROM (registration of marriage) with husband Christopher Lee on May 16 with a picture of Christopher giving her a piggyback ride in Maldives. The svelte actress also hoped for Chris to piggyback her even when they’re old, no matter “how heavy, [or] how fat” she might get, with Chris commenting for her to “not worry, I’m big and strong enough.” Aww…

It was also double happiness for radio DJ Peifen on May 17, as she celebrated her second wedding anniversary, as well as Luke turning 10 months old.

No, your eyes aren't deceiving you. The cast of Toggle's upcoming Toggle Originals series, I Want To Be A Star travelled back in time on May 20, and assumed the characters of the 8 Immortals for filming.

There must be something magical in the water at Quan Yifong’s house. Yifong herself has recently ascended to the ranks of the All-Time Favourite Artistes, while Eleanor is making waves both locally and overseas, and now, it looks like their pet dog is set to join their ranks. Eleanor’s recent video of her fur kid singing along to her playing the piano is way too adorable.

Looks like the actor will have to endure more “sleepless nights” from September onwards! The 37-year-old, whose daughter Aryssa turned one last month, posted a picture of a cup of coffee, and a picture of an ultrasound scan, captioning it “Sleepless night training for September”. The actor also thanked the well-wishers, which included fellow celeb friends Ang Junyang, Priscelia Chan and Apple Hong, who left comments on his picture.

In case you haven’t heard, the Chinese actor announced on his Weibo on Friday that he has registered his marriage to Chinese actress Chen Zi Han, and it looks like the blissful couple are already sending out invites for their wedding banquet! And in a twist of events, it turns out that Singaporean actress Yvonne Lim, who is now based in Taiwan, is actually good friends with Xiangyu’s new wife Zi Han.

The actress posted on Instagram to congratulate the happy couple, and also thanked them for inviting her to their wedding. We wonder, will there be any more familiar faces at their wedding this year?

What was that saying again? “The couple that suffers together, stays together”? We’re not sure, but we applaud Mark (and his wife, especially) for being able to take so many needles on their face.

Sporty, tall, and civic-minded to boot! Chase was recently awarded with a public spiritedness award for apparently helping to put out a fire that broke out last Sunday when he was volunteering with his fellow Team Singapore mates at Kalan Kukoh Community.

Chase also conveyed his gratitude at having received the award through his manager, saying, "I am truly honored and grateful to the SCDF for presenting me with this special award that I will treasure forever. What matters most that very day is that no one got hurt.”

Kudos to Chase for his kind act!

Ya Hui turned 29 on Wednesday this week, but the celebrations had already started way in advance for her. Last Saturday, the actress got together with Team Yahui for an advance celebration, but that’s not all! This week, Ya Hui also celebrated with her fellow cast mates of I Want To Be A Star, an upcoming Toggle Originals series, followed by another celebration with her “sworn sisters”, and finally a “sparkling surprise” with a Ribena cake from fellow actress Chen Li Ping.

While Xubin had a blast exploring the sights and sounds of Seoul, South Korea, we were tickled pink by Shane’s hilarious antics up in Taiwan. The actor, who was leading a celebrity tour in Taiwan, posted pictures that showed him imitating the oh-so-popular “Follow Me” pictures that are flooding social media nowadays, to getting photobombed by an unsuspecting local and finally, attempting to disrupt a busking “Iron Man”.
