Insta-buzz: What the stars were up to this week

The mannequin challenge, where everyone ‘freezes’ in mid-motion while the cameraman records down the entire scene, has been taking the internet by storm, and celebs, including G.E.M., Wu Yifan (also known as Kris) and Belinda Lee were among the few who got creative this week with their videos.

Jolin often posts about her bichon frise, who has now been immortalised with this painting. We say that the resemblance is uncanny, save perhaps for the unicorn horn on its head. She shared that the painting will be printed on merchandise that will be sold to raise funds for the stray animals.

Eleanor never ceases to amaze us with her talent - the young star posted these snaps of her hard at work in the kitchen, teasing that her face has now been cooked and is ready to be served. With a flame that large, we reckon that this is something we won’t be trying at home.

Posting up emotional goodbyes to our home on the hill, many of our actors, including Zheng Ge Ping and Joanne Peh, shared their memories while at the old campus, with Joanne giving us a peek at the backstory of how she met her husband, Qi Yuwu.

The picture itself is innocent enough - Shane posing for a snap at Mediacorp’s Caldecott Broadcast Centre before the move to the new campus. The comments, however, piqued our interest. Shane’s caption of this being “where it all began” had girlfriend Kimberly Wang protesting that this wasn’t where they first met - only to be countered by Joshua and Shane that the bench was where they came up with “the plan”.

So, what was the plan? Where did Shane and Kimberly first meet? We have so many questions, yet no answers to them (yet?).

At a quick glance, this snap looks like every other group shot - celebs Rainie Yang, Wilber Pan and Michelle Chen along with their friends gathering for a photo at their gathering. Rainie’s side-eye, Wilber’s oddly-positioned hand and the caption, “A male star really enjoys violating me”, had fans chuckling. Don’t worry guys, this isn’t a scandal in the making.

No, not Lulu. (as much as we love her to bits!) Former actress Michelle Saram, was spotted chilling with Michelle Chong, Cynthia Koh and Jacelyn Tay, and we must say that she looks like she hasn’t aged a day since we last her on television. We’d love directions to the fountain of youth too, please.

After her recent confession about her battle with depression, we’re glad to see Janet enjoying herself in Jeju, Korea. Apart from these hilarious snaps, she also posted numerous drool-worthy photos of the food she enjoyed there.

Aden and Avery Chen are one step away from being a fixture on our weekly roundup, and with good reason. Look at how fast they’re growing! It seems like just yesterday that little Avery was born, but these days, we’ve been scrolling through our feeds before pausing at their photos to wonder when she grew up so quickly, and whether she’ll look more like daddy Andie Chen or mummy Kate Pang when she grows up.

Angelababy has been plagued with plastic surgery rumours for some time now, but this major #throwback snap goes to show that her good looks are pretty much thanks to her parents instead of a plastic surgeon.

While some fans remarked that she looks exactly like she does now, others took the opportunity to coo over the other children in the photo, with many calling the chubby boy in the background too cute for words.

Move aside, couple selfies. Parent-child selfies could be the next big thing. Choo Sung Hoon (Yoshihiro Akiyama) and his adorable daughter, Sarang, may have left The Return of Superman, but that hasn’t stopped them from sharing regular updates on how the family is doing. Likewise, Jiahui posted four snaps of herself and her ‘Little T’ looking utterly cute together. We can’t wait for more.

Yvonne Lim uploaded these shots from a friend’s daughter’s first birthday, which was also attended by fellow celebs Fish Leong, Blackie Chen and Christine Fan. In attendance was also her husband, Alex Tien and their little one, AJ.

Also spotted was Yvonne’s baby bump - now in her third trimester, the 39-year-old is expected to deliver baby number two in January.

Sherry Tan bumped into Fann Wong, Christopher Lee and their little one, Zed and gushed over how adorable the little boy is. “He inherited his parents’ genes, which is why he smiles so brightly in photos and grabs your attention!” she cooed.
