What the stars did this week

It has been a relatively quiet week in showbiz, but we expect no less from the stars. In this week’s Insta-buzz roundup, we try our darndest to make the best out of our social media feeds. Here are a few things that got on our radar this week: Eddie Peng bends the knee (to whom, you ask?), George Young and Janet Hsieh get everyone guessing about their unborn baby’s gender, and Madonna uploads an epic selfie to remind everyone who’s the queen of pop - and, uh, what she looks like with a bare face. Read on for more!

Nathan Hartono, Stefanie Sun get patriotic for Singapore

Our favourite local songbirds get together for STB (Singapore Tourism Board)’s newest TVC – ‘Passion Made Possible’. Nice. But here’s what we really want to see them do next: collaborate on a new song. The powers that be, please make it possible.

Hayley Woo gets up close with CL

K-Pop fans must be turning green with envy. Hayley, who was in Hong Kong for a Thomas Sabo event earlier this week, got to rub shoulders and catch the former 2NE1 leader in the flesh. She’s not the first local celeb who has “hung out” with CL however – find out which local actress had the honours of doing so here.

Eddie Peng bends the knee

Daenerys Targaryen had a tough time getting Jon Snow to pay his allegiance to her in the penultimate season of Game of Thrones, but Eddie’s all game to do it for the one and only queen in his life – his momma. How sweet is that?! PS: We totally can tell Eddie’s a Game of Thrones fan too. We approve!

Make a guess: when is Janet Hsieh, George Young’s baby due?

The parents-to-be have some fun with their friends at a party by getting their friends to guess 1) the gender of their unborn baby and 2) his or her date and time of arrival. Just for fun, our dollar is on baby boy, due to arrive on the first of October at noon.

Hmm, we wonder if these mamas know of the viral internet meme about a dad sticking kiwi stickers on the back of his baby’s head ‘cos these heads look kiwi-fiable. Just sayin’.

Paige Chua can sing…

Not. The actress denies being a good singer and says she’s only good for singing in the shower, but things can change with the rise of lip-syncing apps. Doesn’t she look cute gesturing to the song with My Friends from Afar co-star Toh Xinhui?

Speak English with Jay Chou

Gotta give Instagram newbie Jay props for trying to caption his pictures shared on the platform in English. The man has 301,000 fans and counting at press time, but it looks like he has yet to figure out how to get a blue tick (read: verified account). We love how he's being subtly romantic about his afternoon in the park with his wife, Hannah Quinlivan, who's also in New York for fashion week (according to a snap on Irene's Instagram).

Madonna’s epic parcel delivery fail

Madonna took to Twitter to vent her frustrations about FedEx’s inability to, uh, recognise her. “When you've been arguing with FedEx all week that you really are Madonna and they still won't release your package,” she wrote.

Um, to be honest, we wouldn’t be able to recognise who the blonde lady in the picture is too.
